Born in Omaha, Nebraska, Dr. Brinkman embarked on his academic journey at the University of Nebraska, where he dedicated his studies to Chemistry, earning a distinguished Bachelor of Arts Degree. Continuing his pursuit of knowledge, he attended the University of Nebraska College of Medicine in Omaha, NE, where he diligently worked towards obtaining his medical degree.
Dr. Brinkman’s commitment to excellence extended to his surgical residency at the St. Paul Medical Center in Dallas, TX, where he honed his skills and gained valuable experience. Displaying a profound sense of duty, he served as a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy, contributing to medical advancements in both the Philippines and San Diego, CA.
With a residency spanning over 20 years, Dr. Brinkman has become an integral part of Clay County. His active involvement includes serving on numerous boards at different hospitals, assuming roles such as Chairman of the Department of Surgery. Beyond the confines of the medical realm, Dr. Brinkman finds fulfillment in spending quality time with his family. A man of diverse interests, he enjoys pursuing his passion for golf and remains an enthusiastic supporter of both the Jacksonville Jaguars and the Nebraska Cornhuskers, adding a vibrant and dynamic touch to his multifaceted life.
