Dr. Stankard is interested in the latest advances in medical technology that are changing the face of surgery and gastroenterology. In addition to his General Surgery practice, he is a Trauma Surgeon at Orange Park Medical Center’s Level II Trauma Center. Dr. Stankard is the founder of the Florida Institute for Reflux Surgery in Northeast Florida, with 2 offices in the greater Jacksonville area specializing in the latest innovative TIF procedure for heartburn. He is also one of the founding partners of the Fleming Island Surgery Center, located in Fleming Island, Florida. Dr. Stankard has advanced training and special interests in the following areas:

Dr. Stankard enjoys spending quality time with his wife, Heather and their children. He enjoys boating, camping, coaching his children’s sports teams, Boy Scout outings, and attending church related activities. Dr. Stankard and his wife enjoy traveling and participating in mission trips around the world. Dr. Stankard is an avid supporter of the community, and supports a wide range of community wide events. He is very proud to be a volunteer surgeon for the Way Free Medical Clinic in Clay County, Florida.
