Dr. Christen Russell, our optometric physician, and the newest member of our Jacksonville Eye Care practice. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Central Florida in 2005 (with honors) and along with her optometric education and training from Nova Southeastern University College of Optometry, graduating with honor in 2009. She is Florida Board Certified in therapeutic eye care and oral medications.
Dr. Russell has done post graduate studies in contact lenses and in the primary care of glaucoma. She is a member of the Florida Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association and serves on numerous professional committees. Dr. Russell specializes in the treatment of dry eye , management and treatment of ocular disease, contact lens fittings as well as comprehensive eye care for children and adults. She also works closely with our optical, striving to provide her patients with the most up to date products in spectacles and contact lenses.
Dr. Russell enjoys being active in the community. They volunteer with the Special Olympics and participate in elementary school vision screenings together. When not at work, they enjoy the beach, boating, and traveling together, as well as spending time with their families and spoiling their two dogs.
