Bio
Daniel Buchan, DO, is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic surgeon with a Certificate of Added Qualifications in Surgery of the Hand at Bluewater Orthopedics in Destin, Niceville, and Crestview, FL. He treats a wide range of orthopedic injuries and ailments, with special training in complex upper extremity problems, including joint replacements, fractures, nerve, tendon and soft tissue injuries.
Dr. Buchan completed his undergraduate degree at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, and earned his medical degree from Ohio University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. Dr. Buchan finished his orthopedic surgery residency at OhioHealth in Columbus and his hand surgery fellowship at Kettering Health Network in Dayton.
When he is not working, he dedicates much of his time to his wife, Maureen, and his three young children, Reed, Olive, and Hattie. He also enjoys playing golf, running, biking, camping, and spending time at the beach. His favorite sports teams are the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He carries a terrible towel into every case with him, but don’t worry, it’s sterile!
