Dr. Jose Baez is a Board-Certified General Surgeon with  Board Certification in the subspecialty of Surgery of the Hand.  He is well experienced in micro-vascular surgery and minimally invasive carpal tunnel techniques.  He is committed to providing experienced care and knowledge to his patients so that they can return to a normal and active lifestyle.

In addition to his position with the Hand and Wrist Center, Dr. Baez also provides care to hand and upper extremity trauma patients at a local Jacksonville trauma center, and sits on the medical executive committee of an ambulatory surgical center.  He is also a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand, the Florida Orthopedic Society and the Clay County Medical Society. 

Dr. Baez completed his undergraduate education at the University of Florida, and then returned to his native Puerto Rico where he attended Universidad Central del Caribe Medical School.  He completed his general surgery residency at The State University of New York Health Science Center (also known as SUNY Downstate Medical Center) in Brooklyn, New York.  Dr. Baez then completed his hand surgery fellowship at the University of Miami Jackson-Memorial Hospital.

Now practicing at the Hand and Wrist Center, Dr. Baez focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of both surgical and non-surgical conditions of the hand, wrist and elbow.  Dr. Baez is fluent in both English and Spanish.
