Dr. Mary Jo Schuh is a board-certified clinical audiologist with more then 30 years of experience in evaluating and treating hearing and balance disorders in Northeast Florida. Dr. Schuh has extensive experience working with infants, pediatrics and adults. Her skills include hearing testing, hearing aid evaluation and fitting, VNG/Rotary Chair/Posturgraphy Balance testing, Electrophysiology, Auditory Processing Testing and Implantable hearing device assessment, fitting and programming. Her focus and interest is treatment of hearing loss with hearing aids, cochlear and BAHA implants. Dr. Schuh has earned the Specialty Certificate in Cochlear Implants from the American Academy of Audiology as part of the inaugural class.
Her diverse experience includes tenure as a community audiologist at Speech and Hearing Center; Chief Audiologist at Nemours Children’s clinic developing, implementing and managing pediatric services; and adult clinical audiologist at Jacksonville Hearing and Balance Institute and at ENT Specialists of St. Vincent’s. She also was President of Advanced Audio-Medical, Inc.; Adjunct instructor at University of North Florida and outside of her profession, past Treasurer of Jacksonville Quota Club and a school PTA president for two years. Dr. Schuh has been recognized as a published researcher, instructor and national and local speaker on cochlear implants.
Dr. Schuh earned a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from University of Florida, Master’s degree in Audiology from Florida State University and Doctor of Audiology from A.T. Still University. She holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Hearing-Language Association. Dr. Schuh is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and member of the Florida Academy of Audiology.
Dr. Schuh is married to her husband Michael J. Schuh who is a Doctor of Pharmacy at Mayo Clinic, Jacksonville. She has two children and four precious grandchildren. She enjoys reading, boating, travel and spending time with family.
