Dr. Jones graduated in 1999 from the University of Alabama with a B.S in accounting. He received his M.D. from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2004. By 2010 Dr. Jones completed his general surgical training at Iowa Methodist Medical Center located in Des Moines, IA. Dr. Jones is board certified by the American Board of Surgeons and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.
Dr. Jones started Emerald Bay Surgical Associates, LLC in 2010. He came to Panama City with the goal of offering advanced and minimally invasive surgical techniques not previously available in the area. Throughout his training, he developed a special interest in surgical oncology of the colon, rectum, pancreas, esophagus and lung. Dr. Jones also provides surgery services for hernia surgery, endocrine surgery, endoscopy, laparoscopic surgery and in-office procedures. Dr. Jones performed the first robotic assisted lobectomy in Bay county and immediate service area, the first robotic assisted procedures for colon and rectal cancer in Northwest Florida, and the first robotic assisted esophagectomy in North Florida. Dr. Jones believes in the traditional doctor-patient relationship, treating his patients as he would like to be treated.
