Born in Tokyo, Japan and raised in San Antonio, Texas, Richard D. Curtis, MD, FACS studied medicine at the University of Texas Medical School in Houston. He completed Residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland and Fellowship in Surgery of the Hand at Baylor College of Medicine with special interest in Dupuytren’s Disease.
A Board Certified Surgeon, Dr. Curtis specializes in hand surgery and helping patients recover from hand injuries. When Dr. Curtis isn’t in the operating room, he spends his time golfing, skiing, traveling and rooting for the Jacksonville Jaguars. Patients would be surprised to learn that Dr. Curtis minored in Anthropology and Archaeology for his undergrad at the University of North Texas and considers himself an amateur Archeologist.
