Dr. Mahan was born and raised on the Eastern Shore of Maryland. Dr. Mahan
attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore where he
received his Doctor of Medicine degree and then received his General Surgery
Specialty Training at Louisiana State University Medical Center in New Orleans.
Dr. Mahan is a board-certified General Surgeon with the American Board of
Surgery and is the co-owner of his private practice surgical group, Surgical
Associates of Central Florida, PA in Winter Park where he has been practicing for
over 20+ years.
Dr. Mahan currently holds positions as Chairman of the Department of Surgery for
the AdventHealth Central Florida Division Hospitals and the Medical Director of
AdventHealth Orlando Campus Robotics Program. He is also very involved with
teaching medical students, PA students, surgical residents, and robotic surgeons.
He is a member of the Office of Graduate Medical Education of AdventHealth, and
is also an Associate Clinical Professor of Surgery at Florida State University
College of Medicine.
Dr. Mahan and his family enjoy the year around opportunities Florida has to offer
from barefoot water skiing, scuba diving, and fishing to boating off the coasts of
Florida.
