A native of Montevideo, Uruguay, Dr. Benjamin M. Piperno has been with North Florida Surgeons since 2005. Dr. Piperno earned his medical degree from Medical School of Uruguay and completed both his Internship and Residency in General Surgery at Staten Island University Hospital in New York. His medical education continued with two Fellowships, one in Colon & Rectal Surgery at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Pennsylvania and the other in Laparoscopic Surgery at Staten Island University Hospital in New York.
Dr. Piperno is a Board Certified General and Colo-Rectal surgeon with laparoscopic expertise. Other areas of expertise include all aspects of general surgery and benign and malignant breast disease. Dr. Piperno’s favorite part of his job is interacting and caring for patients. When he’s not in the operating room, Dr. Piperno enjoys spending time with his family, playing various outdoor sports and sailing.
